Louie Force became the first official entrant into the third annual CompetitionPlus.com War Stories Showdown, an invitational only event which pits drag racing’s best storytellers head-to-head in a four week competition.

The fourteen-time champion NHRA Funny Car champion Force is not allowed to compete since rules prohibit participation following a win.

Louie Force says he is ready to out-tell the champ.

“I think this competition is going to be fun and the team at CompetitionPlus.com have come up with a clever deal,” said Louis Force, who answers to the nickname “Diesel”.

“I think it’s going to be a rush for everyone,” he continued. “On a good day, I can match stories with my brother. If my mom was around I would have the nerve to say I could beat him. Without her here to back me up I don’t know.

“I’m really like John in the fact I can’t help but get involved in the emotional part of the stories. I believe that I’m a contender. I’m bad with the dates but the era I will get right. The stories will be the truth except I won’t change the names of the characters, I am going to do my best to remain politically correct. But, that don’t mean I won’t rat them out.”

The third annual CompetitionPlus.com War Stories is shaping up to be the best ever field in the history of the story-telling competition. Since 2007, drag racing’s best storytellers (and bs’ers) have come together for this annual competition of off-season fun to tell their greatest “PG-13” rated stories of days gone-by.

Joining Force will be last year’s runner-up Pat Musi, 2007 runner-up Roy Hill, Bill Doner, 240 Gordie Bonin and “Waterbed” Fred Miller just to name a few.

The field is comprised of sixteen invited participants and they are seeded by reader vote on an NHRA competition ladder. The contestants are paired up and “race” by each telling a story and the readership determines the better story by vote.

The eliminations will continue until two finalists are determined.

The inaugural War Stories Showdown drew over 100,000 readers, or in racing terms, spectators, and last year that number grew to 125,000.

Scotty Cannon won the inaugural event defeating Roy Hill in the final round. Last year John Force got the best of Pat Musi.

“Oh I’m ready for it again,” said Musi. “I’ve been thinking of how I can get some of my best stories into PG-13 and we’ve even made a few new ones since last season. I’m ready to have some fun. If you’re looking to get entertained … this deal is pretty entertaining.”
Beginning on December 7, CompetitionPlus.com will feature flashbacks of the 2009 event in the news section.
The stories are PG-13 in rating with the only rule a mandate there will be no discussion of felonious acts (unprosecuted ones) and you can’t use a story about your opponent on your opponent.

Beyond that, the gloves are off.
