DELAGO: NOTHING WRONG WITH BOX

Matt Hagan's crew chief, Tommy Delago, confirmed on Friday afternoon in Brainerd that the mandated “safety box” he took from Hagan's Dodge Charger in Seattle and sent back to the factory was found to be in working order.

Matt Hagan's crew chief, Tommy Delago, confirmed on Friday afternoon in Brainerd that the mandated “safety box” he took from Hagan's Dodge Charger in Seattle and sent back to the factory was found to be in working order. Delago still doesn't know what happened to cause the chutes on Hagan's car to be deployed, when the engine wasn't running. He still believes the issue, while not directly related to the “box” itself could be within the “safety system” as a whole.

“It's electronics and wiring and anything can happen in such a violent atmosphere,” said Delago, who also reiterated that safety is always a primary consideration as he prepares the car for a run down the racetrack.
