STORYTELLERS AT CPTV: SCOTTY CANNON TELLS THE STORY OF I'VE HAD SMOKE BLOWN UP MY WAZOO BEFORE BUT NOT LIKE THIS

Storytellers, the entertaining series created by the producers of Legends: The Series, allows drag racing's legends to tell their stories of the good old days for drag racing.

In 1998, Scotty Cannon was on top of the Pro Modified world. The former bracket racer turned doorslammer icon had just completed his sixth IHRA world championship when a gentleman approached him during the final race of the season in Shreveport, La.

This gentleman, who just happened to be the founder of the Oakley brand, Jim Jannard, was full of questions for Cannon. Cannon took the time to answer them, and admittedly got a little perturbed with the goading into running his car hard. Cannon's reaction to the push to perfection is what led to one of his dreams coming true... driving a fuel Funny Car.

This is the story of how the Hall of Famer's dream of driving a Funny Car came true.
