CPTV FEATURE: YOUNG RACER RELISHES IN CLASSIC GASSER RACING
Donovan Stott is an old soul trapped in a 20-year old body.
At 20 years old, the son of past Pro Modified world champion Mitch Stott, has found his calling behind the wheel of a 327-inch powered, 4-speed Anglia with a nasty disposition. He drives a car which mimics a gasser built in 1967 and loves every moment of it.
"I got into this kind of racing for the fun of it," said Stott, who walked away from a potential pro motocross career for drag racing. "I used to go to [uncle] Quain's shop all the time, complaining about how the world is today. You can no longer go on the dirt roads and play around, run from the police or meet up at the dirt spot. It just all came together."
Quain Stott was responsible for fueling his nephew's passion. He provided him with the Anglia under one condition, he could only drive if he built the basket case car and worked on it. He would be no rich kid driver.
In this video, Stott talks about his passion for the Gassers.
