NITRO BUNNY?

Bunny Burkett spent 31 of
her 42 years as a drag racer earning the reputation as the Queen of Alcohol
Funny Car. Word has it that she recently received a phone call from a “Mystery
Man” offering her dream opportunity – to drive a nitro Funny Car. If this pans
out, it would be a fitting conclusion for one of drag racing’s most likeable
personalities.

MACH 1 AIR SERVICES TO JOHN FORCE RACING?

David Baca confirmed last week that he will not run 2007 unless a major sponsor is secured following the departure of MACH 1 Air Services. What we find interesting is a reliable source is telling us that MACH 1 will soon announce their involvement with John Force Racing. We'll see how this one pans out.

CHARLES CARPENTER RUMOR

Rumor has it there will be a major announcement forthcoming from 
Charles
Carpenter Racing very soon. Our sources indicate the news 
could revolve
around the Pro Mod legend's involvement in a multi-car 
team for the 2007
season, among other things.

NO BAZE AT VEGAS BLAST OFF

Whit Bazemore has traditionally competed in the Las Vegas Nitro Blast off, but this year don't expect the former Funny Car racer turned Top Fuel driver to partake. A source indicates that he will debut the Matco Tools dragster during testing in Phoenix.

EXPECT DPR ANNOUNCEMENT PRIOR TO VEGAS TEST

While the folks at Don Prudhomme Racing are tight-lipped on the details, the popular word according to multiple sources is that a sponsorship package was secured earlier this week. DPR won't confirm nor deny but promised any announcement will come prior to testing in two weeks.

MORGAN LUCAS - FUNNY CAR PILOT?

Sources have indicated that Morgan Lucas could be planning to attain his license in a Funny Car during the 2007 season for a switch in 2008. Those close to Lucas have indicated that the Top Fuel driver has always held a love for the class but decided Top Fuel was a better introduction to the nitro ranks. More than likely, he's got his eye on a Mopar.

ENDERS - THE OTHER STORY

Two sides to every story fits well with the real story going around behind
the scenes regarding Erica Enders' decision to pass on the Revive-USA
sponsorship.

TERRY ADAMS TO WJ?

There is a strong rumor that is gaining horsepower and if it plays out you could see a difference in the program of a prominent two-car operation. Terry Adams was most recently a part of the Erica Enders program having come over from Don Schumacher Racing. In a turn of events, could Adams end up with Warren and Kurt Johnson? We are still awaiting confirmation or denial from Adams, but until then that's the hot rumor going around.

UPDATE: Debbie Adams, Terry's wife, has confirmed that her husband will be working for the Johnsons in 2007/ 

CHARGES AGAINST DUPUY DISMISSED?

Sources indicate that the grand larceny charges filed against Wayne Dupuy by former employer Doug Herbert alleging the theft of parts have been dropped by the District Attorney of Lincolnton, NC., due to lack of evidence. Torco's CompetitionPlus.com is in the process of contacting the DA's office for confirmation or denial. We'll post more details on this story as they become available.

BECKMAN'S FATE DECIDED

Expect Don Schumacher to announce soon that Jack Beckman will remain in a Funny Car for the 2007 season amidst rumors that he was planning to go Top Fuel racing.
