The Virtual Reality Hot Rod Association, a fan-vote drag racing series created by during the pandemic shutdown, will return on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, for its second season.

The inaugural series featured five events and crowned champions in five professional categories. Defending series champions include Terry McMillen (Top Fuel), Tim Wilkerson (Funny Car), Kyle Koretsky (Pro Stock), Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle), and Rickie Smith (Pro Modified).

The series was created by founder Bobby Bennett; ironically, on March 13, 2020, the first day he began to show symptoms of the Covid-19 virus.

"I had zero fun in the first few days of the series," Bennett explained. "It's not a lot of fun coordinating what should be a fun experience when you are extremely ill. However, only one event out of the five had to be delayed, but otherwise, it finished up without a hitch. This time I am looking forward to a whole lot of fun and fan interaction."

This year, the series will feature nine events campaigned in the virtual world of drag racing strips that no longer exist or host major drag racing events to one fantasy-inspired indoor facility.

Reader votes determine the event qualifying and elimination round outcomes. In other words, qualifying and round wins are determined by you, the reader. In some cases, races were determined by five votes or less.
