PESZ, NESLONEY WALK AWAY FROM FIERY PRO MOD CRASH
Pro Modified drivers Brandon Pesz and Dustin Nesloney walked away from a crash Saturday evening during the third and final qualifying session at the NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla.
As both drivers reached the eighth-mile, Pesz, in the left lane, began to drift left and out of the groove. His Camaro immediately turned right and into the path of Nesloney, leaving him no other choice but to t-bone the supercharged entry and creating a huge fireball.
The destroyed race cars slid to a stop in the Gainesville Raceway, where both drivers exited their cars on their own.
A dejected Pesz was highly disappointed in what had transpired.
"Well, that was a complete demonstration of how to drive like an idiot, take out two bad-ass hot rods," Pesz told NHRA.tv's Amanda Busek. "Just got out of the groove. I just got done telling Jeff it's a little bit pulling by the wall, so if you get by the walls lift. And I did totally exactly the opposite of what I told him to do. That's all I got."
