FRANKLIN, CAMP, DEFLORIAN HEADLINE PDRA WORLD FINALS PROVISIONAL QUALIFIERS


 
Virginia’s own Tommy Franklin threw down a 3.638-second pass to grab the provisional No. 1 spot in Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous on Friday night at the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) Brian Olson Memorial World Finals presented by ProCharger. Two Saturday qualifying sessions remain to set the fields for Sunday eliminations at Virginia Motorsports Park. 
 
Johnny Camp (Penske/PRS Pro Boost presented by WS Construction), John DeFlorian (Liberty’s Gears Extreme Pro Stock presented by AED Competition, Daryl Stewart ($hameless Racing Pro Outlaw 632), Meshal Al-Saber (Drag 965 Pro Nitrous Motorcycle) and Nick Schroeder (Drag 965 Pro Street) also took the provisional No. 1 spots in the pro classes. 
 
In the PDRA’s sportsman categories, Buddy Perkinson (MagnaFuel Elite Top Sportsman presented by Tejas Borja) Kellan Farmer (Lucas Oil Elite Top Dragster), Bryan LaFlam (MagnaFuel Top Sportsman 48), and Blake Denton (Lucas Oil Top Dragster 32) topped their respective fields. 
 
The PDRA’s rising stars in the Jr. Dragster classes also ran two qualifying sessions, with Charlee O’Meara leading the way in Coolshirt Systems Pro Jr. Dragster and Alyssa Rabon taking the top spot in Classic Graphix Top Jr. Dragster. O’Meara ran a 7.900 to lead over 30 other Pro Jr. Dragster racers, while Rabon cut a .005 reaction time.
