VIDEO FEATURE - IT'S ALL IN THE FLYWHEEL
Thanks to CompetitionPlus.com reader Monty Bogan, we are able to present what will be a multi-part series of home videos shot by him at IHRA events from 1993 until 1996, focusing on the old Modified Eliminator in an era when stick shift cars winded high and dumped the clutch.
You'll see a gaggle of high-winding Corvette Stingrays, Chevy II's and Camaro working the gearbox on both eighth and quarter mile runs.
You see facilities such as the old Shuffletown Dragway, Greer Dragway, hio Valley Raceway and legends Thunder Valley Dragway in Bristol, Tenn., and Darlington Dragway in Darlington, SC.
Who knows? You might catch some Quick Eight Pro Modified footage in there too.
How about some obscure professional drag racing from the American Hot Rod Association? We have coverage fo the 1984 Grand American Series from U.S. 30 Dragway in Gary, Indiana. #ClassicDragRacing - https://t.co/821L0lSH5C pic.twitter.com/jyUlpBgEoZ

Only three times since the introduction of NHRA Pro Stock in 1970, has the factory hot rod division been overhauled. Our team at CompetitionPlusTV has compiled a season in review of 1982, the first year of 500-inch. #ClassicDragRacing - https://t.co/CjWVyk7b5B pic.twitter.com/7SbdarYCt8
