In the final results from Auto Club Dragway at Auto Club Speedway and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, local racers Ross Wilson, San Bernardino, Calif., and Phil Mandela Jr., Upland, Calif., took home the wins in Comp Eliminator and Stock Eliminator respectively.
 
Wilson, with a starting line advantage, raced down the track with a pass of 8.309 seconds in his final round victory over Randy Jones, Monarch Beach, Calif., who clocked in at 8.839 seconds.
 
Mandella Jr. faced off against Brian McClanahan, Alta Loma, Calif., posting a winning run of 11.299 seconds at 108.27 mph in his ’69 Chevelle. McClanahan drove to a 10.259 second, 131.59 mph lap for his runner-up finish.
 
In the division’s Top Dragster class, it was Steve Casner with a starting line advantage against Rodger Comstock with Casner posting a winning run of 7.323 seconds, 162.35 mph in his ’99 Uyemento Dragster. Ted Kellner, San Jose, Calif., took the victory in Top Sportsman in his ’01 Firebird with a winning pass of 7.416 seconds and 131.57 mph against Bud Preuss, Grand Junction, Colo. In the Sportsman Motorcycle Division, Rick Newport, Bluffdale, Utah, defeated David Ochoa, Tulare, Calif., with a pass at 8.314 seconds at 143.51 mph.
 
Other racers visiting the winner’s circle this weekend were Kyle Rizzoli, San Luis Obispo, Calf., in Super Stock; Chad Webber, Kingman, Ariz., in Super Comp; Mike Lang, Northridge, Calif., in Super Gas; and Mike Decarolis, Chandler, Ariz., in Super Street. 

Pacific Division racers head to Sonoma Raceway for the next NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, July 20-22.
