RUMOR MILL - NEW NITRO SPONSOR COMING?

 

Expect the rumor mill to start churning again, with revelations coming as soon as this week.

Word has it a prominent Top Fuel team will introduce a familiar to drag racing, new sponsorship which from what we hear, could leave the nitro community green with envy. But, you know how these rumors are, sometimes they pan out, and sometimes they can be open to interpretation.

 

RUMOR MILL - CORRADI HAS LEFT THE BUILDING?

 

The word floating around the pits is that Brian Corradi has left John Force Racing, but don't be surprised if you see the championship-winning crew chief back in familiar surroundings.

 

 

RUMOR MILL - FUNNY CAR RUMBLINGS

A rumor gaining steam throughout the nitro pits suggests Blake Alexander is headed to JIm Head's team as a replacement for Jonnie Lindberg. Everyone is tight-lipped on this one, especially Alexander. However, if it comes to pass, don't be surprised if you see a prominent Pro Modified racer making a serious run at campaigning a Funny Car team. 

 

 

RUMOR MILL - A KALITTA DOWNSIZING IN THE WORKS

 

RUMOR MILL - PROMINENT CREW CHIEF CHANGE COMING?

Look for the crew chief carousel to begin turning as early as the end of Sunday's action at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, Ca. The word we hear has a prominent crew chief leaving their home to be reunited with a former team. This one will certainly catch a few off-guard. 

 

 

 

RUMOR MILL - LANGDON IN A DRAGSTER?

While there's no official comment available, the rumor floating around the pits suggests Kalitta will be downsizing to one Funny Car. Also attached to the scuttlebuitt is the suggestion Shawn Langdon will be headed to the Top Fuel ranks in 2020.

We are told on Tuesday at the SEMA show, Kalitta Racing will announce a new major sponsor for their team. Could a third dragster be in the works with a familiar face behind the wheel?

 

 

RUMOR MILL - CENTRIFUGAL SUPERCHARGER IN OR OUT?

 

CompetitionPlus.com has been told there may be a test or two more by NHRA officials regarding the viability of centrifugal superchargers in Pro Modified. At this time we are told there is no definitive plan regarding their implementation as a power adder in NHRA Pro Modified.
