THE STRAIGHT SCOOPS ON NHRA PRO STOCK, OR LACK THEREOF

While there is much speculation regarding the future of NHRA Pro Stock, here's what our reliable sources are telling us. Yes, there will be a move towards EFI and getting rid of the hood scoops for the factory hot rods. At some point, it is not beyond the realm of reason that the stock roof and quarter foundation could come back into play as NHRA moves to make the class more relevant to the average drag racing fan.

There are rumors suggesting the 500-inch format is going away, but that is not set in stone at this moment. Our sources indicate there is pressure on the NHRA to implement a smaller displacement combination.

We are also told the NHRA will make moves intended to involve the fans more into the Pro Stock experience. It's no secret the Pro Stock pit areas have been anything but open to a fan who wants to visualize the intricacies of the engines like they used to be back in the day.
