RUMOR MILL: NHRA LOOKING TO SLOW NITRO CARS AGAIN?

From what we hear the NHRA's tech department is looking to use the supercharger configuration as a means of slowing the fuel cars down even more in 2019. And, from what we hear in the pits, the idea is going to fly with the fuel teams as well as a lead balloon.

We are told NHRA wants to limit the ability of the superchargers to flow air to the rotors. The move, we are told, is expected to take five to six percent from the supercharger and they won’t be as efficient. However, the teams with the better superchargers should be only affected minimally.
