WORSHAM ADDED TO WORLD SERIES OF DRAG RACING LINEUP

Del Worsham, one of only three men to win World Championships in both Top Fuel and Funny Car, has been added to the lineup for the 64th annual World Series of Drag Racing to be held on Aug. 25-27 at Cordova International Raceway.

Worsham has earned World Championships in both International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) and the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) competition. He was the 1992 IHRA Nitro Funny Car World Champion and added NHRA championships in Top Fuel in 2011 and Funny Car in 2015. Worsham, who has compiled 39 NHRA national-event wins and 66 final-round appearances, looks forward to returning to Cordova for one of drag racing's marquee events.

"I first entered the World Series of Drag Racing in the early 2000s," said Worsham, who currently drives a Nitro Funny Car for his family-owned team. "I got to see the magnitude of such an iconic event and what it meant to the people there. Since the first time I did that, I've always enjoyed coming back with my Nostalgia Funny Car or with my big-show car. It's such a cool and exciting event with such a great legacy."

It was previously announced that three-time World Champion Larry Dixon would participate in the World Series of Drag Racing, the world's longest continually running drag racing event. International Hot Rod Association President Mike Dunn and his former car owner Roland Leong, will serve as World Series Grand Marshals.

The early entry list also includes Nitro Funny Cars, Jet Dragsters, Fuel Altered Dragsters, Midwest Nostalgia Pro Stocks, Nostalgia Gassers, Chicagoland Super Stocks, Mountain Motor Pro Stocks, Victory Nostalgia Super Stocks, Nitro Harleys, the Pro Mod Shootout and Richard Hutchins' famed Chevy Rebellion Wheelstander.

"What a lineup we have for the World Series of Drag Racing," Cordova International Raceway President Dominic Blasco said. "There is so much excitement for this event and then you add in Del Worsham, who is a champion in both IHRA and NHRA competition and truly one of the most talented drivers out there. It's a must-see for any drag racing fan."
