TEAM BRAY RACING GOING SOLO IN ADELAIDE

Team Bray Racing will focus all of its efforts on Ben Bray and his Gulf Western Oil-sponsored Pro Slammer at Adelaide International Raceway this weekend.

Bray’s teammate Frankie Taylor is unable to attend the March 23-24 event due to business and racing commitments in his native US, leaving Ben to fly the flag solo for TBR on-track this Friday and Saturday.

While the possibility of an all-TBR final might be off the table as a result, fans can rest assured the Queensland team will be doing all it can to ensure Ben’s GWO Slammer makes it all the way to the final race come Saturday evening.

“The Adelaide track has a lot of history and even a connection to our home-state of Queensland, as it was actually built by Surfers Paradise businessman Keith Williams,” Ben explained.

“We have had success at Adelaide in the past, and I am keen to see us do it again – it should be a competitive field this weekend and we will be doing all we can to make sure we are up the front in qualifying and at the pointy end come race day."

“Once again, Gulf Western Oil will be bringing along plenty of customers to the TBR hospitality area which is right next to our pits, to get up close and personal with our racing operation and to check out what drag racing is all about. Hopefully for them and for all of the fans set to be trackside this weekend, we can put on a great show.”

Racing over the 1000ft distance, Friday will host two test sessions for the Pro Slammer category ahead of three rounds of racing on Saturday.

While disappointed he won’t be able to attend this weekend, Taylor is quick to confirm he will be back for the Gulf Western Oil sponsored events to round out the season.

“Naturally I am very disappointed not to be racing with TBR this weekend in Adelaide, I am currently third (224 points) on the championship ladder and locked in a battle with Ben (213pts) and Mark Belleri (209pts),” Taylor said.

“While I am not able to be there this weekend, I am 100 percent going to be back for May’s Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder and the season-ending Gulf Western Oil Winternationals.

“In the meantime, I wish Ben and all the team the best of luck for this weekend, hopefully they can bring home a win.”
