PRUSIENSKY ROLLING ALONG IN PRO STOCK CLASS

There has been plenty of change in NHRA’s Pro Stock class in the last few years.

Despite the overhaul, Alan Prusiensky has become a steady competitor in the class. He’s been at almost every national event since the Chicago race in July of 2016.

Prusiensky enters the Midwest Nationals Sept. 21-23 in St. Louis 13th in the point standings.

Prusiensky, who resides in Rockaway, N.J., campaigns his Dodge Dart with his company – ARCRACEENGINES.com as his primary sponsor.

The highlight of Prusiensky’s season was a first-round win over Jason Line at the Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla., in March.

“I keep racing Pro Stock, so I keep trying to get better,” Prusiensky said. “I want to catch the fast guys and just keep getting better.”

Prusiensky has competed in 64 career NHRA national events and has five round wins. He did take a moment to discuss the possibility of NHRA allowing Mountain Motor Pro Stock cars to compete in the Pro Stock class in the future.

“As long as one of the big teams builds one of them (Mountain Motor Pro Stock cars) as sets it straight it will be fine because you’re not going to run faster than one of these big teams if they work on the Mountain Motor stuff,” Prusiensky said. “I just don’t want somebody who doesn’t work on their stuff every weekend be able to come out here and win a race. If one of the big teams sets the table where they should be and then they put them neck-and-neck with the No. 1 guy I’m Ok with it. We need a couple more cars, I just don’t think they are going to get four or five of them cars at every race. They are probably going to get two cars or three cars if we are lucky at every race.  Maybe if one of the big teams switching over to a Mountain Motor, somebody like Vincent Nobile drives a Mountain Motor car instead of his 500-cubic inch motor, I don’t know how that will play out. Just the guys who race in PDRA or whatever they are racing, I don’t think they are going to come over here (to NHRA Pro Stock). I don’t think you’re going to get a lot of cars. That’s my guess. We will just have to see what happens. I think so (said Prusiensky about coming back next year). I can’t see doing something else on the weekend. I don’t how much I’m going to race next year. I will see how sponsorship goes. It is usually week to week for us.”
