A new rules package that allows participation by drivers of all three Pro Modified configurations, with the exception of screw blowers, promises to draw some of the quickest and fastest doorslammers in the Southeast to the October 17 Lucas Oil Pro Mod Shootout at North Carolina’s Piedmont Dragway.

Presented by E3 Spark Plugs, the 2015 edition of this popular event will feature the top 4 point earners from Piedmont’s Big Dog Shootout as well as the top 4 from the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod series. The other 8 cars in the field will be filled during qualifying.

At stake is a winner’s prize of $15,000.00.

A number of name competitors will be on hand, with Travis Harvey, Chris Cline, Tommy Mauney, and Zach Hauser representing the Big Dog Shootout. Racing for the Extreme Outlaw Pro Mod series will be Jay Cox, last year’s winner Chris Rini, Ty Tutterow, and Todd Howard.

Other eliminators running will include Super Clean Renegade, O’Reilly Outlaw DoorSlammers, Mickey Thompson 6.00 Raiders, and Deep Creek Motors 7.49 Real Street. Also competing will be the Extreme Outlaw Junior Dragsters.

Time runs will start at 10 AM and the first round of qualifying is scheduled for 11 AM.
