PDRA Dragstock XII, originally scheduled for GALOT Motorsports Park, will revert to Rockingham Dragway, on the traditional September 11-13 date.

PDRA officials made the decision on June 22 when it became apparent the facility would not be completed in time. The track also cancelled all planned activities until 2016.

“We are disappointed that we will not run at GALOT this year,” said Harris, “We understand that they are creating a world-class facility and want it to be right before opening. We appreciate GALOT giving us enough notice to find a different facility in time and also appreciate Steve Earwood for partnering with the PDRA for a second event this season. We enjoy running at Rockingham and love the history that the Dragstock event has had at that track. We look forward to a great event there.”

The plan as of now is to return GALOT Motorsports Park to the schedule in 2016, with a date unnamed at the time of this announcement.

“We wish GALOT the best as they continue to remodel the facility and look forward to seeing the place in action 2016," Harris continued. "We will certainly welcome them on our schedule.”

The PDRA Dragstock, the iconic race of the eighth-mile championship drag racing series, was first hosted under the American Drag Racing League banner in 2004 at Carolina Dragway in Jackson, SC. The ADRL later moved the event to Rockingham Dragway.

The two-year-old race series adopted the event last season as part of their ten-race schedule.

“It’s a great show,” said Rockingham Dragway owner Steve Earwood.  “It may be a straight track, but these cars never go straight. They run right on the ragged edge every run, and I think that’s what appeals to our fans.  It’s amazing how much racing can really occur in three and a half seconds – but it does.”

As the eighth of 10 events in the series, Dragstock once again will play a major role in determining Pro Modified season champions in the Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous and Pro Boost classes as well as in Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Top Dragster and Top Sportsman.
