JIANNA SALINAS EXPECTED TO RUN PSM FOR UNDERDAHL-STOFFER TEAM IN 2019

According Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Jimmy Underdahl, he is expecting to have a new teammate on the Underdahl-Stoffer operation next season. The team has backing from Suzuki Extended Protection.

“Next year, I should be back out here for the full season and we do have another rider, Jianna Salinas, who we are training right now, and she should be ready to go by next season,” Underdahl said.

Salinas is the daughter of NHRA Top Fuel driver Mike Salinas. Jianna, 21, of San Jose, Calif., began competing in Junior Dragsters at age 10. She was introduced to street riding in 2015.

“We have got her like a trainer bike with a smaller engine and she has tested pretty good,” Underdahl said. “She’s progressing very well so you should see her out here next year. After races, we have been testing with her and getting here familiar with everything.”

Last year, Underdahl stepped away from the class to spend time with his family and work.

Underdahl competed in just two events in 2017 at Brainerd, Minn., and the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

Jimmy Underdahl has been competing in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class since 2005. His best finish in the points was ninth in 2015. He has two career runner-up finishes and 11 semifinal efforts.
