HEMI CHALLENGE ADDED TO MEGA MOPAR SERIES


Maple Grove Raceway announced the return of the popular Hemi Challenge Shootout, as a part of the Mega Mopar Series event on Saturday May 30th.  

In making the announcement, Maple Grove’s Lex Dudas said “We’ve heard from both competitors and fans of the class all wanting us to bring back the popular shootout and we’ve responded by adding it back into the Mopar show.  The shootout has been a part of the Mega Mopar Series since the inaugural event and this addition will keep the string going for the popular class.” 

The class will be run heads-up with an all-run field.  Two qualifying rounds will be held in the morning with final eliminations set for 2PM. 

The purse will be $3,000.00 to the winner, $1,000 to the runner-up, $250 to the semifinalists while the quarterfinalists will receive $100.00 each.  Car and driver fees for the shootout will be $100.00. 

The Hemi Shootout will continue to be featured as part of the Pennsylvania Dutch Classic the weekend of October 9 – 11 with final eliminations on Saturday, October 10.  The Dutch Shootout will be sponsored by Penske Truck Leasing. 

Entering its 53rd season, Maple Grove Raceway will once again host a full season of championship racing events. The NHRA Keystone Nationals, part of the NHRA Mello Yello Series’ Countdown to the Championship will return for October 1st through the 4th.
