GLOBAL ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY INKS ASSOCIATE DEAL WITH MIKE SALINAS

Global Electronic Technology, a leader in credit card processing, has expanded their reach in the NHRA championship drag racing by signing up-and-coming Top Fuel driver Mike Salinas to an associate sponsorship for the 2019 season.

Salinas finished seventh in the 2018 NHRA Top Fuel point standings, his first full season on the tour. He plans to use the foundation of the strong season to make a championship run in 2019 and adding Global Electronic Technology makes for perfect timing.

"They’re great people, good service," Salinas said. "We already do business with them, so it’s just adding to the family. It’s nice. Great people, good service. They do a great job with us."

Salinas finished the first two days of testing at the PRO Winter Warm-up at Wild Horse Motorsports Park as fourth quickest with a 3.747 elapsed time.

"We’re going to know this weekend what we have and that’s our goal is to get this car to run the way we need it to," Salinas explained. "Be consistent, be efficient, and not hurt everything."

Steve Bryson, owner of Global Electronic Technology, believes there's a natural synergy which exists between the two which delivers a win-win for all involved.

"Mike’s the sponsor, let’s make no bones about that," Bryson said. "Allowing me to be on Mike’s car is quite an honor. He’s one of the good guys. He’s a very serious man, very direct, and he and I see eye to eye on a lot of things, including business.

"I’ve got my own Funny Car out here running, but Mike’s deal is special to my family, we all know him and his family. We’re proud."

Bryson recently extended his sponsorship of the Kalitta Funny Car driven by Shawn Langdon. It isn't hard to see the passion he and wife Samantha have for the straight-line sport.

"I did fall in love with drag racing," Bryson admitted. "I did. You know, it’s better than alcohol, it’s better than just about everything except your family. And being out here with all these guys, these legends, and these guys that pour their heart and their soul into this, and the drivers and the crew, the way they work together. Yeah, I love it. I fell in love with it."
