DSR TO REVEAL EXPANSION PLANS DURING OPEN HOUSE IN INDY

A lot has changed at Don Schumacher Racing since the drag racing juggernaut opened its massive headquarters near Indianapolis in 2005, and there's more to come.

A year after opening, DSR invited the public to attend an open-house tour before the 2006 NHRA U.S. Nationals and used the event to begin raising funds and awareness for Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health.

At the first Open House DSR had 82 NHRA event titles and three world championship trophies.

When guests arrive this year on Sept. 4 (a Friday) for the 10th annual DSR Open House to benefit Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health they will see a collection that has grown to include 261 Wally trophies and 13 Mello Yello championship awards.

And DSR will get even bigger with details to be announced the DSR Open House that has raised more than $300,000 for Riley Kids from DSR's family of friends and fans.

Media will be invited to hear exciting plans for expanding DSR, which currently fields seven professional NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series teams from its headquarters at 1681 E. Northfield Drive in Brownsburg.

The festive event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on that Friday will feature a giant car and bike show, big nitro cacklefest, silent auction, various displays, contests and some of the area's best food trucks.

All seven DSR drivers will be joined by owner Don Schumacher for an hour-long autograph session beginning at 1 p.m.

DSR's support for Riley, Indiana's only comprehensive hospital dedicated exclusively to the care of children, will extend for a second year to running the #RileyDreamRacer Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car with driver Tommy Johnson Jr. and funded by Terry Chandler.
