DOM LAGANA STARTS NEW LIFE CHAPTER FROM HOME
Dom Lagana is finally home.
The NHRA tuner/driver was injured in a non-racing automobile accident on August 9, 2020, and has been hospitalized ever since.
"103 days in the hospital since my accident on August 9th, and I'm happy to say that I'm finally back home," Lagana said. "I had severely bad burns to my body, which resulted in my lower legs getting amputated. This hasn't been an easy journey, but I am so lucky to have such an amazing support system around me. I am forever indebted to all the doctors, nurses, and therapists who saved my life.
"I'll be continuing outpatient rehab and focused on working toward getting prosthetics."
Lagana, along with Top Fuel driver Richie Crampton, and crewman Jacob Sanders were injured when they ran off the road in a supercharged 1957 Chevy wagon, primarily used in the Hot Rod Power Tour and had been utilized that weekend as a tow car for Jonnie Lindberg's Top Alcohol Funny Car.
Crampton and Sanders were hospitalized and later released.
For Lagana, he's prepared to face a new normal of life.
"It's a big life adjustment but I'm so grateful to still be here," Lagana said. "Thank you again for everyone's support and prayers; it means the world to my family and I."
