BTE WORLD FOOTBRAKE CHALLENGE SET FOR THUNDER VALLEY

When the gates to Bristol Dragway open up this Thursday, over 300 of the best footbrake drag racers in the country will flood in to compete at the most financially rewarding event for their class of car.

“Both Steve (Stites – co-promoter) and I are over the top proud of the racers who show up here,” says co-promoter Jared Pennington. “Between the support we received from the racers and the many sponsors, we couldn’t be happier with the end results. Every one of these racers are the best at what they do and it shows.

“The WFC has seen some changes over the years and every one of them has been carefully made in an effort to benefit the racers and gain exposure for Footbrake racing,” Pennington added. “This year will see some changes with that same intention.”

With three separate races run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, this year’s event marks a small change which will award Saturday’s winner $20,000.

For the ninth straight year, the BTE World Footbrake Challenge has been the one race every footbrake racer in the country looks forward to. In addition to the winner’s share each day, second round winners receive round money. A great number of sponsors have also stepped up and round loser prizes and awards will be given out each day.

For this year, Plattinum Products and Plourd Racing Products will present the WFC IX event live on the World Wide Web via MotorManiaTV's four camera angles all three days. The racers at WFC IX will get to show the world what big time Footbrake racing is all about, live as it happens.
