AUSSIE BRAY AND GWO END SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

When Victor and Ben Bray completed their recent 400 Thunder Winternationals race weekend at Willowbank Raceway, they also closed a chapter of their racing history. Thus ended their two-and-a-half year partnership with Gulf Western Oil.

“It has been a great two and a half years representing Gulf Western Oil all around the country not only as drag racing events but also through burnout shows at events, the GW Nitro Thunder and other local shows and appearances at Expos, agricultural shows and more," team owner and Australian drag racing icon Victor Bray said.

“When Gulf Western Oil came on board Australian drag racing was facing some challenges and we remain ever thankful to this great Aussie-owned company for getting behind us in the changeable environment. Their commitment and support has always been greatly appreciated.

“We, of course, wish them all the best moving forward – Gulf Western Oil are great supporters of drag racing and we greatly look forward to seeing them at the May 2020 Nitro Champs and the June 2020 Winternationals, where they will continue as event naming rights partners.”

Not long after Victor inked the deal with Gulf Western, he was diagnosed with cancer and spent much of 2017 fighting for his life. A year later he made a triumphant return to competition.

In his absence, American Frankie Taylor filled in to maintain a high level of performance.

As it stands now, Team Bray Racing is now seeking a new naming rights partner as it gets ready to embark on a full racing season across the 2019/2020 season.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors, including associate sponsors Century, Gates, Speedflow and NGK for their ongoing support,” Bray concluded.
