ARP QUESTION OF THE WEEK RESULTS - SURVEY SAYS ... KEEP NHRA AT 3 DAYS
Never has there been a tighter question we've asked.
By a margin of four votes out of the 6,600-plus cast, the readers of CompetitionPlus.com were in favor of NHRA keeping the show as it has been with two days of qualifying and eliminations on the final day. The alternative offered was one day of qualifying and the one race day.
Our faithful Facebook followers had some interesting observations.
"As a fan who must travel internationally in order to attend a race I would much prefer to see the events remain at three days," Chris Wasney wrote. "When attending a race, my greatest cost is airfare which remains static whether I receive 2 or 3 days of entertainment. The three-day venue also affords me more opportunity to visit the manufacturer's midway and spend time with the racers."
Steve Deputy added, "Anyone who voted for two days must have never been to a Friday qualifying event. Friday’s are more relaxed day for the fans while the action on the track heats and the bump spot drops."
Bill Randles Jr. is all for the two-day with a third option. "Friday, Saturday, Sunday as a rain date. I was thinking Saturday and Sunday ... but have Friday as like a test and tune and make it free to spectators."
