With NHRA races on hold due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Pro Stock and Top Sportsman racer Aaron Stanfield has been trying to stay busy.

He became a standout in CompetitionPlus.com’s Virtual Reality Hot Rod Association, winning the final race of the season April 21.

And, when he wasn’t racing in the four-race VRHRA, he was working with his father, Greg, a veteran Pro Stock racer.

“My dad and I have been trying to get a few projects knocked out, and stuff like that,” said Aaron, who lives in Bossier City, La. “I don’t know, it is weird, I’m not used to this slow pace. I’m ready to get back at it and start being busy again. I absolutely feel like I’m going stir crazy at times. I’m ready to go racing.”

When races start up again, Aaron has a busy schedule with Pro Stock, Factory Stock Showdown and Top Dragster driving duties.

“Everything is on track, after they finalize the schedule,” said Stanfield, 24. “As of right now, Top Dragster is going to be really tough, but we’re still going to try and do it. My schedule already looked crazy as it stood at the beginning of the year, now it looks even more crazy. At one point, I have 11 races in a row. I’m not complaining, I will enjoy it.”

Stanfield is 12th in NHRA’s Mello Yello Series Pro Stock points standings after the only two races that were contested – Pomona, Calif, and Phoenix. He’s driving a Camaro for Richard Freeman’s Elite Motorsports.
