Seeing America's best Top Fuel pilots taking on the Aussies come Boxing Day at
Western Sydney International Dragway is exciting enough, however the excitement
will reac h all-new levels with the inclusion of Top Doorslammer in a whole new
exciting way. Imagine the world's fastest sedan-based vehicles running down the
quarter mile with no weight limit and no blower overdrive
restrictions!It's a mouth watering prospect that has one biting their nails in anticipation already!

"Of course Christmas is a busy time of year for families and racers but I must say an outlaw or rebel type Doorslammer package is a good idea," remarked Sydney based current Australian Top Doorslammer Champion Steve Stanic.
Stanic was also intrigued with the prospect of no weight of supercharger overdrive restrictions.
"Well we
all run pretty quick already obviously, but thinking of our combination in the
Lockwood, Narrabeen Smash Repairs Camaro, I reckon we could take 100lbs weight
straight out in our case and that would make things interesting in terms of how
we would perform."With the timing of the event, Stanic said he would have t o chat things over with the man who is the heart and soul of the team in Lucky Belleri before a final determination is made in contesting the event on December 26 & 27, where it will be run in the traditional three qualifers and then an 8-car eliminations field come race day (December 27).
"The more runs the better for the bracket in Sydney no doubt. That said it is still too early to make a final word but nevertheless I am certain there will be some big names there, racing for good money on offer."
It has been confirmed that $15,000 will be up for grabs for the Doorslammin' dudes at the Nitro Thunder event come Boxing Day at WSID, with the event winner receiving $4,000 and the runner-up grabbing $2,500 cash.
The other qualifiers to make the 8-car field will each pocket a cool $1,400 for their efforts also.
Regardless of their possible Boxing Day efforts, Stanic is keen to get their Australian Championship defence back on song for this season aft er a torrid start, with the source of the team's pain being electronic gremlins so far.
"We had some major issues with the retard system on the MSD ignition box we have run so far this season, with no advance in the motor as a result. That said, we recently re-wired the setup and made some progress there after some testing last weekend."
Despite the slow start as the custodian of the number 1 plate on his awesome Camaro Doorslammer, Stanic still believes he and the team can successfully defend their ANDRA Australian Top Doorslammer Championship.
"I think the Perth rounds are pivotal with the bonus points on offer there, it can really get you back in the game. That said, with so many competitive cars, no one seems to be gaining a clear advantage in the bracket these days. It is tough, but it's also exciting to be a part of."
Exciting is also the word we would use with the announcement of Top Doorslammer being including to WSID's action during the U SA Boxing Day Nitro Thunder event!
