PIZZA HUT SPONSORS MARTIN ADRL

adrl_logo_martin.jpgDrag racing fans and pizza lovers will be getting more than just “America’s Favorite Pizza” in western Michigan thanks to a new sponsorship agreement announced today between Pizza Hut and the American Drag Racing League (ADRL).  Not only has Pizza Hut acquired the title rights to the 4th annual ADRL Pizza Hut Summer Drags, but they also will be providing complimentary tickets to the event being held June 6-7, at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park at U.S. 131 in Martin, Michigan.

“The ADRL serves up the fastest and hottest eighth-mile drag racing in the world and Pizza Hut is dedicated to fast service and hot delicious deals, so it represents an ideal marketing partnership for us,” said Brian Cronkrite, Vice President of Marketing, Trigo Hospitality. “We are thrilled to be a partner with the ADRL in bringing one of the most popular and exciting racing series in America to western Michigan.” adrl_logo_martin.jpgDrag racing fans and pizza lovers will be getting more than just “America’s Favorite Pizza” in western Michigan thanks to a new sponsorship agreement announced today between Pizza Hut and the American Drag Racing League (ADRL).

More than fifty area Pizza Hut restaurants and the ADRL will soon begin distributing complimentary tickets to the June 6-7 event, which promises to be the biggest in the track’s 47-year history. In March, at the 2008 season opener in Houston, Texas, the ADRL attracted 41,742 raceday fans to shatter the track’s previous single-day attendance record and set a new record for the largest single-day crowd in drag racing history. Additionally, several ADRL cars and stars are expected to make appearances at select Pizza Hut restaurants in the weeks leading up to the event, with appearance schedules to be released soon by the participating restaurants.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Pizza Hut as our latest national-event title rights sponsor,” ADRL Executive Vice President Jeff Fortune said. “When America thinks of pizza, Pizza Hut is the first thing that comes to mind. We are striving to make sure that when America thinks of drag racing, the ADRL is the first thing that comes to mind. This partnership will certainly go a long way to helping us achieve that goal.”

The ADRL Pizza Hut Summer Drags will be the third of nine eighth-mile drag racing events staged this year by the Flowmaster American Drag Racing League presented by the National Guard. The event will feature Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme 10.5, Pro Nitrous and Pro Extreme, the quickest and fastest full-bodied drag racing cars in the world.
