The new points system will begin March 13-16 with the series-opening 39th annual ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway.

40 points for the quarterfinalist
20 points for the first-rounders
10 points to all entrants making at least one qualifying pass
8 points for qualifying No. 1
7 points for qualifying No. 2
6 points for qualifying No. 3
5 points for qualifying No. 4
4 points for qualifying Nos. 5-6
3 points for qualifying Nos. 7-8
2 points for qualifying Nos. 9-12
1 points for qualifying Nos. 13-16
20 points for establishing an official elapsed time national record

"We're trying to simplify things," series promoter and driver Troy Coughlin said. "In the past, the points structure was different because they ran fields with just four cars or eight cars. From this point forward we will always have full 16-car fields and this tried and true system of rewarding points has worked so well in the other classes that we decided to adopt it for the JEGS ProMod Challenge."
