A jet car racer was killed in a wreck during last weekend's Citrus Nationals at Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Gould, 52, was reportedly thrown from the car despite having all the required safety equipment in place.

Gould lost control of the car after the parachutes failed to deploy. The car violently overturned several times, according to the official report.

Sheriff's vehicular homicide deputies were investigating the crash.
