Coughlin's big news races to Times Square

Minutes after Jeg Coughlin Jr. won the 43rd annual Auto Club of Southern California NHRA Finals and clinched his third POWERade Pro Stock championship at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona the news was had flashed across the country to Times Square in New York City.

Anticipating a big day, Team JEGS public relations guru Scott "Woody" Woodruff primed his colleagues at Reuters headquarters in the Big Apple for the potential news. As the race unfolded, he crafted a press release on Coughlin's big day on the West Coast and as soon as it was official, he hit the send button on his laptop computer and sent the information to the PR Newswire, which in turn distributed it to the world.
