Bristol Dragway received yet another prestigious honor when the track was inducted into the Fun Ford Weekend Hall of Fame at the Second Annual Fun Ford Weekend awards banquet last Sunday night in Ennis, Texas. 

In his award presentation, Bill Alexander, Fun Ford Weekend Event Director, explained that the facility and its staff are the main reasons why Bristol Dragway was selected for the award.

“We produce the Fun Ford Weekend at the finest facilities in America, all of them national event caliber race tracks,” said Alexander.  “But like everything else, what makes Bristol stand out from the rest of the pack is, quite simply, the people.  The staff and crew at Bristol Dragway are among the absolute finest professionals of anywhere we go.”

 
When asked what makes the staff in Thunder Valley stand out, Alexander said it is the close attention to detail that puts Bristol Dragway in a class of its own.

“If we don’t get something we need or want at Bristol,” he explained, “it is because we failed to ask for it.  It is my great pleasure to have Bristol Dragway in the Fun Ford Weekend Hall of Fame.”

Not only does Alexander feel the staff and facility are top-notch, he says the racing itself is worth the trip to Tennessee.  With multiple track records broken during the August 3-5 running of the Fun Ford Weekend, race fans saw the thrilling action they have come to expect in Thunder Valley. 

Dragway officials eagerly anticipate the return of the Fun Ford Weekend Nationals to Bristol Dragway in 2008.
