Numerous and usually very credible sources have informed Torco’s CompetitionPlus.com that Rahn Tobler will be leaving Morgan Lucas Racing by the end of the week.  Expect an official announcement by Friday.  With Tobler’s departure – apparently due to the lack of performance demonstrated by Morgan Lucas’s car since his arrival just prior to the Las Vegas race – Richard Hogan will take over the tuning responsibilities.  Numerous and usually very credible sources have informed Torco’s CompetitionPlus.com that Rahn Tobler will be leaving Morgan Lucas Racing by the end of the week.  Expect an official announcement by Friday.  With Tobler’s departure – apparently due to the lack of performance demonstrated by Morgan Lucas’s car since his arrival just prior to the Las Vegas race – Richard Hogan will take over the tuning responsibilities. 

John Stewart, who left the team earlier in the season, will now return on a full time basis, taking over the tuning chores on Melanie Troxel’s veterans-honoring machine.  The shake-up doesn’t come as a complete surprise because Lucas is not even listed among the top 15 points earners in Top Fuel.  Troxel, currently sixth, and a likely “qualifier” for the final eight, will have to adjust to a new tuner, although she’s certainly worked with Stewart in the past, as he began the season as Lucas’s tuner of record. Tobler, who departed Kalitta Racing under clouded circumstances earlier in the year, appears to be the one left out in the cold in all of this, although a man with his talents will certainly not be idle long.
