HOT ROD POWER TOUR RETURNING TO MEMPHIS IN 2015

 

power tourThe legendary HOT ROD Power Tour will return to Memphis, Tennessee, in 2015 and organizers recently announced a stop at Memphis International Raceway (MIR) on Tuesday, June 9. The seven-day, seven-city journey travels more than 1,000 miles from Madison, Wisconsin, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana from June 6 - 12, 2015 and MIR will be the third stop on the tour.
 
MIR teamed up with the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau to host the annual summer trek of small town America. More than 5,800 participants and upward of 90,000 spectators are expected to celebrate in the 2015 HOT ROD Power Tour. The tour brings together hot rods, street rods, custom trucks, muscle cars, and performance machines from around the world.

"When you have one of the world's largest tours of iconic cars stopping in an iconic city like Memphis, you're sure to get an enormous turnout of car enthusiasts from around the region."

The Power Tour started in 1995 as an event for HOT ROD magazine editors and has grown every year into the largest road trip in the world. For many, it is the ultimate vacation for friends and family. The stop at MIR will include a midway filled with performance manufacturers and aftermarket specialists, autograph sessions with motorsports celebrities, entertainment, giveaways, fun runs down the historic drag strip and much more.
 
The tour will kick-off Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Following the kick-off event, additional stops will include:
Sunday, June 7 : Parkland College in Champaign, IL
Monday, June 8: Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL
Tuesday, June 9: Memphis International Raceway in Memphis, TN
Wednesday, June 10: Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, AL
Thursday, June 11: city and location to be announced
Final Event, Friday, June 12: Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, LA.
 
The HOT ROD Power Tour is free for spectators. Participants may register a vehicle for just one day or for the entire event. Vehicle registration is open to any year, make, or model. Pre-registration is available now through Saturday, May 23, 2015 online at www.HOTROD.com.
