In the final results from Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, Shayne Lawson, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Dale Brand, Sully, Iowa, took home the wins in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car respectively.
 
Lawson, worked his way through the field and ran 5.285 seconds at 272.61 mph in his final round victory over Chase Copeland, Gainesville, Texas, who clocked in at 5.397 seconds, 265.85 mph. Copeland had the starting line advantage out of the gate and also his quickest pass of the weekend, but Lawson quickly got around him and pulled away for the win.

Brand faced off against Annie Whitely, Grand Junction, Colo., and posted a winning run of 5.613 seconds, 255.34 mph in his ’06 Monte Carlo.  Whitely, who had won this event last year, drove to a 5.625 second, 255.77 mph lap for her runner up finish. Brand was off the line first and slowly pulled away and received his 3rd win of the year.
 
There were two racers this weekend that had wins in two different classes. Slate Cummings, Ponchatoula, La., doubled up in Super Stock and Stock Eliminator. In the Super Stock final, Cummings with a 9.045 second, 139.21 mph run defeated Lloyd Wofford, Jonesboro, Ark., who went 8.585 seconds, 162.55 mph, in his runner up finish. In the Stock Eliminator final, Cummings went off against Brenda Grubbs with a 10.486 second, 116.10 mph run over Grubbs’ 10.481 second, 123.42 mph pass. With this win, Cummings won his second Wally of the day on a double-breakout.
 
The second driver of the day that won Wally’s in two different classes was Tommy Phillips, Forney, Texas, who won in Super Comp and in Super Gas. In Super Comp, Phillips faced off against Rustin Mayse, Grandview, Texas. Phillips posted a winning run of 8.918 seconds, 170.23 mph over Mayse’s final round pass of 8.925 seconds, 157.91 mph.  This was a close race with Phillips and Mayse posting near identical reaction times and at the finish line the margin of victory was 0.0082 seconds, approximately 23 inches. After just winning in Super Comp, Phillips then scored another victory in Super Gas. Phillips went off again Jeff Lopez, Bedford, Texas, and posted a winning run of 9.899 seconds, 159.27 mph over Lopez’s pass of 9.892 seconds, 151.90 mph. This final round run was also very close with a margin of victory for Phillips of 0.0077 seconds, approximately 21 inches, and gave him his second Wally of the day.
 
Other racers visiting the winner’s circle this weekend were Mike Trumble, Pasadena, Texas, in Comp Eliminator; Jason Owens, White Oak, Texas, in Super Street; David Sheetz, Lake Jackson, Texas in the Sunset Racecraft Top Dragster; Kirk Piepke, Pauls Valley, Okla., in Orteq Top Sportsman; and Robert Sanders, Katy, Texas in Sportsman Motorcycle presented by Harley-Davidson.
