LIZZY MUSI HEADED TO PRO MODIFIED IN 2014

photoLizzy Musi has been following in her father Pat Musi’s footsteps for many years. In 2014, she plans to make a gigantic leap.

Musi, who has raced Top Sportsman for the last two seasons, will graduate to Pro Modified and drive Frank Brandao’s Dodge Stratus, the same car most recently driven by Pat. The car will be sponsored by the Brandao, Lucas Oil and Edelbrock.

“I think the time has come for us to make this move,” said Pat. “She has been a good student, and has done a great job of learning. Lizzy has taken her time to learn the ins and outs and has done a great job of rolling with the punches.”

Musi believes racing Pro Modified will complete a childhood dream.

“Almost … once I think about it,” Musi said. “I want to do more than race. I want to win. But for now, I am just so excited to get the chance. I’ve always wanted to race like my father has and in making the step up, I will be doing just that. I helped dad for many years when I was a kid, and now it looks like my time has come.

“I cannot say enough about Frank, he has been a great friend and we are blessed to be associated with him. Representing the country of Curacao will be great.”

In addition to this news, there will be another Musi girl racing in 2014.

According to Pat, daughter Tricia Musi, 21, will climb behind the wheel of his former Pro Street Firebird to compete in Pro Street. Don’s Performance and longtime partner Don Ream will make it possible.

“I’m excited for Tricia to come to the spotlight,” said Pat. “She’s always been a behind-the-scenes person and now she will get her chance to shine.”

The Musi girls plan to run in eighth-mile competition although they haven’t committed to a series yet.
