LE Tonglet's drag racing journey hit a pothole as confirmed in a statement issued by the past NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champion.
Tonglet, the 2010 series champion, issued a statement on February 26, revealing his team had parted ways with 2012 sponsor ZLOOP Recycling Centers. The statement said the reason for the parting of ways was ZLOOP's failure to fulfill their 2012 financial commitment and a commitment to the upcoming season.
“We are very disappointed with the way things turned out," team owner Gary Tonglet said. "We had really hoped that ZLOOP would fulfill their 2012 financial commitment to us, and we could move forward for 2013, but as time went on it became obvious to us that they had no sincere intention in which to do so.
"We worked real hard to meet, and exceed our commitment to ZLOOP for those last seven races in 2012, we just wish they had kept their commitment to us as we did for them. Now with ZLOOP failure to meet the financial commitment that they made to us we are starting off 2013 in the red, and are just taking it all day by day.”
The Tonglets are undecided regarding their 2013 racing plans.
