In IHRA's Nitro Jam Series, Peter Gallen won the AMSOIL Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car class championship.

Pacific Street Car Association (PSCA) competitor Doug Sikora, during the Mickey Thompson West Coast Shootout in Las Vegas, Nev., ran a 6.507-second run to score the Outlaw 10.5 record.

Gallen, a two-time Nitro Jam champion, achieved his feat driving a 1977 Monza using Mickey Thompson ET Drag tires size 34.5/17.0-16 (#3187).

“Gallen made an incredible come back after a rough start to the season this year,” stated Aaron Smith, Motorsports Team Manager, Mickey Thompson. “He and the Poverty Stricken Racing team did an incredible job earning this class championship for the second consecutive year, and we congratulate them on a job well done.”

Sikora's achieve came while running Mickey Thompson ET Drag tires size 33.0/10.5-16W tires (3169W), and Pro-5 ET Drag Wheels.

“Doug has really raised the bar for every racer who competes with us,” stated Mel Roth, President, PSCA. “He’s got his eyes on the prize and that’s the Street Car Super Nationals VIII.”

Mickey Thompson is the official tire sponsor for all eight PSCA drag racing events as well as the Title Sponsor of the Wild Street Class for the season, and the title event Sponsor for the annual Mickey Thompson West Coast Shootout.
