NEW PRO MOD SERIES ON THE HORIZON?
Is there a new Pro Modified style race series forthcoming?
According to former ADRL Vice President of Operations Bubba Corzine on the ProModifiedWarzTV YouTube channel, there is. Reportedly a group out of the St. Louis area with ties to the previous management will contest a four race series next season with projected stops coming to Rockingham, NC, Valdosta, Ga., and possibly a stop in the Midwest and another in Texas.
“Officially … unofficially … off the record … not really off the record … myself and Jessica Nowling and Mr. Quick [Vandiver] are going to have a four-race series, mostly in the southeast,” Corzine confirmed.
According to Corzine the shows will be a mixture of the early days of the ADRL with an environment similar to Dave Hance’s popular Englishtown, NJ-based Shakedown event.
“We are going to have a lot of good classes,” said Corzine. “We’ll have a X275 class and Jimmy Biggs and Kenny are getting together … I mean Jessica. When those minds get together no telling what d*** classes we’ll have when those minds get together.
“I’m not knocking anybody’s organization … it will be like the Shakedown or the old ADRL …. There was always excitement … giving $100 bills away or a four-hour trophy presentation at the end where he gave stuff away to everybody at the end. It was an experience … now it’s ‘ah, another car is getting ready to go down the track. There’s nothing to it. None. We don’t even have Tucci anymore. How can you have a Pro Mod race without Al Tucci?”
Corzine added the new series will be focused on the needs of the race fans.
“We’re in the entertainment business,” said Corzine. “We’re not in the racing business. We are in the entertainment business.”
