It promises to again be one of the quickest races for Hemi-powered Super Stock cars, including Darts and Barracudas. Last weekend’s Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals featured national records in three of four Pro classes and cool weather this weekend might bring some new Sportsman marks.

Last year’s winner was Gary Wolkwitz of Annandale, N.J. who drove his 1968 Dart to PPC Lubricants Victory Lane. The car was powered by Ray Barton Racing Engines, which is located in nearby Robesonia, Pa.

Wolkwitz beat Jeffrey Kobylski of Macomb Township, Mich., in the final with pass of 8.400 seconds at 158.11 mph.

This year’s Challenge will begin at 12:30 p.m. with eliminations through the afternoon. There will be Super Stock time shots on Thursday and Friday.

This year’s payout is:

§ Winner: $4,500

§ Runner-up: $2,500
