RAIN ALREADY AFFECTING MAPLE GROVE SCHEDULE

Written by CompetitionPlus.

An estimated three inches of rain falling on Maple Grove Raceway, host of this weekend's NHRA Auto-Plus Nationals, has already forced race officials to adjust Thursday's sportsman schedule because of delayed parking due to wet grounds.

Thursday and Friday's qualifying will be limited to just one qualifying/time trial for Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp and Super Gas. In the event Thursday is a no-go, these classes will make one run Friday morning and go right into eliminations.

Stock class winners will be determined by the quickest in each class.

The other sportsman divisions, Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car, along with Comp eliminator, will be reduced to two sessions.

Due to the revised schedule, any Sportsman driver may withdraw from this event with no penalty.  A team withdrawing from this event (or no-show) will have their total entry fee transferred for use at any future National Event within the next 12 months.
