TEXAS NOSTALGIA CHAMPIONSHIPS CONCLUDE AT NORTH STAR DRAGWAY

The Painless Performance Outlaw Fuel Altered Association will conclude it's 2012 racing season at North Star Dragway on Saturday, October 13th in Denton, Texas at the 1st Annual Fall Nostalgia Nationals, the biggest nostalgia drag racing event North Texas has seen in many years. Joining the OFAA series will be the Southwest Junior Fuel Association and Texas Blown Fuel Association, also concluding their points seasons at this event, putting three series Championships up for grabs to be determined at this event.
Former multi-time Top Alcohol Funny Car Division 4 Champion Jimmy Jones and his "Texas Tremor" team are currently second in Outlaw Fuel Altered points standings hoping to re-peat on their Championship effort from last year. Sitting atop the standings is Terry Brian, a sophomore to the series who has enjoyed much success in his brief time spent driving a blown alcohol Hemi powered machine he calls "II N'Tense". Brian recently claimed victory at the 2012 World Fuel Altered Nationals in Eddyville, Iowa and is up to the challenge he will face from several of Outlaw Fuel Altered Association teams who are also in the running for the Championship.
This Saturday, September 29th, the Outlaw Fuel Altered Association will headline the exhibition portion of the Super Chevy Show at Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas before wrapping up their season two weeks later at North Star Dragway. Donnie Massey's "Showtime" nitro burning fuel altered is red hot with back to back wins and comes into Houston as the defending event champion. Jones, Brian, Massey and the rest of the Painless Performance Outlaw Fuel Altered teams hope to see you at one of their final two events this season.

Ricky Marshall holds a comfortable lead in the Southwest Junior Fuel Association points standings with a forty four point margin over veteran Ron Muncy, yet this is drag racing and Muncy does have a chance to pull off the come from behind Championship run. Marshall has been simply incredible in his 2012 S.W.J.F.A. series campaign, posting four number one qualifying efforts with four finals and three wins in his five starts. Let's not forget Marshall's 16-1 round record this season which came to an end this past weekend at Tulsa Raceway Park where Richard Brady took an impressive win in the final round against Marshall. Marshall hopes to hold off Muncy on October 13th at North Star Dragway and claim his first Southwest Junior Fuel Association Championship.

The Texas Blown Fuel Association is hosting quite a Championship bout between two strong running blown small block Chevrolets. Defending series Champion Chris Stouffer with crew chief Carl Meador currently trail points leader Steve Matthews by just a single point heading into the Fall Nostalgia Nationals at North Star Dragway. Both drivers have earned three event wins in the seven race T.B.F.A. series and with a field of up to sixteen blown front engine dragsters and altered expected for the event in Denton, each round will prove crucial as these two battle for points and an eventual series Championship.

Also on the bill for the North Star Dragway Fall Nostalgia Nationals is vintage gasser racing, special exhibition passes from various nostalgia drag racing machines, a Texas flavored nostalgia nitro Cacklefest and rumors suggest an appearance by the "Blue Max" Nostalgia Funny Car of Ronny Young.
