INDY QUALIFYING UNDERWAY; PROS SLATED FOR 3 PM

Qualifying resumed at 11:33 AM with Super Stock and then the Top Alcohol classes. The professional divisions are expected to follow at 3 PM. The Traxxas Funny Car Shootout has already been rescheduled for the NHRA Fall Nationals in Dallas later this month.

Today's rescheduled qualifying for the NHRA U.S. Nationals is already delayed.

Yesterday's heavy rains have essentially prevented the NHRA from doing the necessary prep work on Friday which caused the original date to be postponed last Monday. Plus there's an even greater problem in the pits. The storm dumped several inches of rain on Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis leading to significant flooding again.

We are told the drivers have been notified the soonest any action will hit the track is 3 PM. As for the Traxxas Funny Car Shootout', it has already been postponed and sent to another location, likely Dallas in two weeks.
