RARE OPPORTUNITY FOR FANS TO SEE LITTON’S RACE CAR SHOP AND MUSEUM
Bruce Litton is teaming up with Racers for Christ, the official ministry of the NHRA, to host a fundraiser for a very worthy cause. Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis is a leader in medical research and advance treatments for children’s illnesses. In 2009 Litton dedicated his entire season to Riley and a very special girl they treated. Karsyn Bell was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. Despite aggressive treatments and the best care possible, Karsyn passed from this life in January of ’09.
Litton understands the value of furthering cancer research. A cause near and dear to his heart, he’s excited to do his part to increase the chances of other children like Karsyn living long and healthy lives. So on Thursday, August 30th Litton will open his famed shop to the public for a donation of their choice. All proceeds will go directly to Riley Children’s Hospital.
Litton’s shop not only houses his impressive Lucas Slick Mist Top Fuel dragsters and entire racing operation, but it also a car show in its own right and a very unique museum. As a native of Oneida, Tn. Litton desired to replicate the ‘small town’ feel of his birthplace in his current hometown. Guests can tour this amazing piece of Americana during the Open House Fundraiser. Vintage cars and bikes line a 50’s style Main Street USA, complete with a barber shop, soda shop, movie theater, chapel and gas station. Guests that have been privy to a tour of Litton’s shop before have never left less than amazed.
“I'm very excited about this fundraiser,” told Litton. Larry and Linda Smiley from RFC will be on hand to host with me. We're expecting a huge turnout and hope everyone has a great time. It's the same week as the US Nationals, so fans coming to the area for the race can also make our shop part of their plans. The donations go to a truly great cause. Riley Children's Hospital is a wonderful facility that works hard to find cures and ensure a healthy future for the next generation.
Litton’s Open House Fundraiser coincides with the Mac Tools Nationals, otherwise known as the “Big Go” – NHRA’s premier event held at Lucas Oil Raceway August 29th-September 3rd. Litton’s shop is easy access from Lucas Oil Raceway, located within walking distance.
