2ba504a7-9b4a-42e5-90d6-693eabd83b47Former Funny Car racer and tuner Timothy Kushi  died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center. He was 61.

Kushi is survived by his wife, the former Ellen Buckley, who he married on April 16, 1966 at St. Joseph’s Church. He is also survived by his four children, Terence Kushi and his wife Donna, Kelly Buckley and her husband Brian, Kaleen Kushi all of Pittsfield and Kristen Bazonski and her husband Matthew of Lanesborough; two brothers, Thomas Kushi Jr. and his wife Lorraine and Kevin Kushi and his wife Jean all of Pittsfield; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy “Honey” Chiorgno.

Kushi burial is scheduled for Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Dalton celebrated by the Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church in Pittsfield. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be at St. Agnes Church in Dalton on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Agnes Church CCD care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA, which is in charge of arrangements.
