AUSSIE TOP DOORSLAMMER ICON VICTOR BRAY SHINES IN RECORD-SETTING BENARBY EVENT
Local pre-event press releases suggested the Benardby Slamfest would yield the best event ever for Benaraby Raceway. The show hosted by the 32-year old track lived up to the hype.
Spectator cars were lined the entrance highway for almost half a kilometer. The delay to get into the track inspired promoters to delay the start of Top Doorslammer qualifying for almost a half hour in order to get everyone parked.
"It has been a great event, and the Benaraby club have done a great job," said Top Doorslammeer icon and winner Victor Bray. "With the track upgrades it has certainly come a long way from when I used to race here in the 80's, and now I cannot wait to get back here again."
Peter Kapiris paced Top Doorslammer qualifying and established a new ANDRA speed record at 194.81.
In the end, it was Victor Bray winning and setting a new elapsed time record as he posted a 3.981 to beat John Zappia.
