WCOPMA HEADED TO BOISE’S FIREBIRD RACEWAY THIS WEEKEND

will martinFIRST TIME - The Multistack/Prolong Nitro Funny Car is ready to head North to Boise, Idaho for the 41st Annual Nightfire Nationals at Firebird Raceway. This will be Jam Air's name sake, John Martin's first trip back to the famed Nightfires since the Jam Air Special won the Funny Car class there in 1981 with Henry Harrison behind the wheel. Now, 31 years later, he will have his son Will in the driver seat. This will be the youngest Martin's first time competing at the Nightfires in the Nitro Funny Car class.

After two semi final appearances at the last 2 races and arriving at Boise 4th in points the team is ready to hit the track and make some noise. With over a month off since the last race everyone is chomping at the bit to get back out there. "I am excited to be competing in my first Pepsi Nightfires! I am hoping we can give my Dad, John an outstanding 64th birthday gift this weekend." said driver, Will Martin.The West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association begins the second half of their 2012 season this weekend at Firebird Raceway’s prestigious 41st annual “Pepsi Nightfire Nationals” event in Boise, Idaho.

The Nightfire event is one of the biggest events on the WCOPMA’s schedule and the biggest event for Firebird Raceway as the event winner is granted with a Wally trophy and the stands will be packed with fans all weekend long. As well as the WCOPMA there will also be the NHRA Heritage series Nostalgia Fuel Funny Cars and Dragsters as well as a 4-day bracket race with one of the richest payouts on the west coast. Fans will be treated to nonstop racing action from start to finish every day.

There will be 3 qualifying runs for the 8-car qualified field. Friday all drivers will get one shot at the track at 7:00. On Saturday, there will be two qualifying opportunities scheduled for 2:00 and 7:00. Sunday will host the 8-car elimination field with elimination rounds scheduled for 4:30, 6:30 and 8:30.
