CAR SHOW TO PLAY A BIG PART OF FUN FORD EVENT
When Maple Grove Raceway hosts its manufacturer weekends in the summer, car shows play a big part.
The Fun Ford Weekend presented by Roush Yates, JE Pistons and Joe Gibbs Driven Motor Oil won’t be an exception when it returns to The Grove on Aug. 18-19.
There will be 16 classes for Fords, including Mustangs, Thunderbirds, Lincolns, Mercurys and compacts.
The car show will be Saturday and Sunday with judging on both days.
NHRA racing legend and Ford racer Roy Hill will make his top 25 picks while the Berks County Mustang Car Club will conduct the big show on Sunday.
Car show classes include:
§ Mustang: 1964-’69, 1970-’73, 1974-’78, 1979-’93, 1994-’98, 1999-2004, 2005-’08, 2009-present
§ Conversion (Ford powered vehicle)
§ Competition Sports: GT 40, Cobra, Kit Car, Road Race, Etc.
§ Compact
§ Open
§ Thunderbird
§ Pick-Up Full/Mini 4WD
§ Galaxie, Fairlane, Torino
§ Pick-Up Full/Mini 2WD
§ Rod (pre-1948)
§ SUV 4WD
§ SUV 2WD
§ Lincoln
§ Mercury
§ Nostalgia
§ Big Car
Special awards include Track Choice, Best Wheels, Cool Factor, People’s Choice, Best Engine, Best Paint/Body and Best of Show. All participants will receive dash plaques.
Car show entry, for car and driver, is $25 for one day or $45 for two. Spectator admission is $20 for one day and $30 for two.
