top doorslammerSources close to the situation have confirmed with CompetitionPlus.com that a decision has been made in the tribunal hearing to declare a Top Doorslammer winner from the ANDRA Winternationals last month at Willowbank Raceway.

The race between Andrew Sutton and Robin Judd was declared a no-result by a tribunal jury made up of a divisional director and select Group 1 racers. The committee concluded there wasn't enough evidence to declare a winner. The contestants may stage a rerun at another event if they so chose to determine the winner.

The race has been a lightning rod of controversy since Sutton was declared the winner over Judd in a match where the scoreboards indicated an obvious timing malfunction. Timing experts ruled Sutton's run of 5.60 seconds wasn't a legitimate number although video cameras showed Sutton apparently left on the amber and not as a foul start.

The official findings are expected to be released in a few days with experts agreeing the guard beam was in an off position during the race.
